For many, a family get-together on Easter Sunday is a tradition that has gone on for many years. Perhaps that time has come for you to host your first family Easter dinner. This can be quite the stressful event. Here is how you can prepare to host your first family Easter dinner.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Plan your meal at least two weeks in advance. Make a list of everything you plan to serve for Easter dinner and be sure to buy the items as early as possible.

  2. Step 2

Try to keep your first Easter dinner a small and personal event. You should only invite close family members and very close friends to the dinner. Having a small Easter dinner will make your first time hosting the event a much less stressful event.

  3. Step 3

Don't cook anything for Easter dinner that you haven't cooked before. Stick to cooking simple foods for your first time hosting the family Easter dinner. If you've never cooked a large ham before, find a recipe online or ask for a family recipe and then prepare a practice ham a week or two before Easter.

  4. Step 4

Keep the decorations for your first family Easter dinner simple. You could either paint some Easter eggs yourself or buy a few fake eggs at a local thrift store. You could also find other random Easter decorations at the thrift store such as Easter baskets or even fake flowers.

  5. Step 5

Be careful to keep any small traditions your family may have during Easter. This could be as simple as having a small Easter egg hunt before dinner or even making small Easter baskets full of candy. This little step will mean a lot to your family members on Easter Sunday.

  6. Step 6

Ask your guests to bring a small food item to Easter dinner. This could be anything from a salad to cookies. Any small item will help decrease your stress while planning your Easter dinner.
