Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Two pieces of material 7 x 16 inches; one of burlap and one of a small print
  • Black pompom (nose)
  • Two wiggly eyes
  • Matching thread
Step1
Make the body by cutting one piece of burlap and one piece of small printed material, then cut the corners off to round the edges.
Step2
Put wrong sides together and sew around with 3/8-inch seams, leaving about 2 inches on a straight side to turn.
Step3
Press seam open. Turn right side out and press again.
Step4
Make the tail with burlap scraps by braiding three strands together with a knot at each end. This should be about 6 inches long.
Step5
Fold body piece in half with print on inside.
Step6
Insert string of pompom (nose) and one knot of tail in body piece at opposite ends of fold.
Step7
Topstitch 4 inches along side starting at pompom.
Step8
Topstitch 5 inches along side starting at tail.
Step9
Glue on the two eyes.
Step10
Fold ears down.
Step11
Fill with a potted plant, vase, jar, candle or anything you like.
