Be a player. Get a player's reward card at the hotel you are staying and do your gambling there. You can go to other casinos for drinks or dancing, but to maximize your comp points, keep your gambling to one place.
Step2
Slots
Get your game on. Gamble. Slots, blackjack and video poker--all of these games will take your card and will earn you points toward your comps.
Step3
Understand the comp. Comp is short for complementary. When you gamble with a player's card, you accumulate comp points that earn you meals. Once you have gambled a while (every casino has different standards for this) you will be able to hit the buffet for free, or even earn points for meals at finer restaurants (depending on you luck and budget).
Step4
Table games
Understand the rating P is for player. Rated players or "high rollers" are people who gamble often and for higher stakes. The higher the stakes and frequency, the higher the rating. Rated players usually have casino hosts that offer everything from comped meals, to shows, to free stays at the hotel.
