You want to look good for work, but you also want to be taken seriously. Just how sexy is too sexy? What is appropriate for work?
Here are a few ways to know when you have crossed the line.
The will to change your dress style if you need to
Step1
Watch the length of your skirts. Ideally, a skirt must be no shorter than one hand's width above your knee.
Step2
Shirts. Make sure there is at least one inch of space between your body and the fabric. Above all, ensure that your shirt is long enough to cover your stomach. You must cover your stomach, chest, back and shoulders. The fabric must not be too transparent and you must use a bra. Make sure the straps are not showing.
Step3
Dresses. No halter tops or low-cut necklines. Avoid too-tight dresses. The length must be one hand's width above the knee.
Step4
Pants. Don't wear them too tight. Do not expose your midriff. Use neutral colors.
Step5
Shoes. Use closed heels. Make sure they are not higher than two inches. Try to avoid any shoe style with laces, bright colors and designs.
Step6
Hair. Keep your hair clean and make sure it doesn't cover your face. Resist from styling it too elaborately.
Step7
Makeup. Make sure it is soft and natural-looking. Avoid using flashy eyeliner or lipstick.
Tips & Warnings
Women who are in charge in the workplace and dress provocatively are perceived as less intelligent and less competent while women who occupy "lower" positions are not perceived that way.
