How to Put Movies on an Apple TV

Apple TVs are a great device that allow users to play iTunes libraries through the television set. What many users don't realize, however, is that there is a way to play high-quality movies through the Apple TV, too. Read on to learn how to put movies on an Apple TV.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Go to the Handbrake website and download the latest version of the Handbrake software.

  2. Step 2

    After Handbrake has been installed on the computer, open the program and insert a DVD to be added.

  3. Step 3

    With Handbrake open, select "Source" at the top of the application and select the DVD from the drop-down menu.

  4. Step 4

    Now, at the main page of the Handbrake software, select the "Apple TV" video format feature.

  5. Step 5

    Hit start and allow the DVD to convert to the specified folder (which can be changed by the user).

  6. Step 6

    Once the DVD has been converted (the process usually takes a little less than two hours), open iTunes and select "Add File to Library."

  7. Step 7

    Select the converted video file and it will be in iTunes.

  8. Step 8

    Finally, click on the Apple TV logo on iTunes and the find the "Movies" tab. Make sure the Apple TV is set to sync automatically.

  9. Step 9

    Enjoy the movie on the Apple TV.
