How many times have you heard people say, "I wish we would get some rain." If you tell them that you can make rain they will probably look at you like you are crazy. However, you can prove them wrong by reading on to learn how to make rain.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Spoon
  • Freezer
  • A kettle
  • A saucer
  • An oven glove
  • Water
  • Stove
  1. Step 1

    Gather you materials and clear a space to conduct the experiment.

  2. Step 2

    Place the spoon in the freezer for half an hour.

  3. Step 3

    Fill kettle with water.

  4. Step 4
     

    Heat water in the kettle until it is boiling.

  5. Step 5

    Place the saucer under the kettles spout.

  6. Step 6

    Using an oven glove remove the spoon from the freezer.

  7. Step 7

    Hold the spoon in the steam coming from the boiling kettle.

  8. Step 8

    "Rain" will form when the steam from the kettle hits the cold spoon.

  9. Step 9

    The vapor condenses and forms water droplets that drop from the spoon into the saucer.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try this experiment with kids.
  • Depending on your freezer you may have to leave the spoon in the freezer for longer.
  • Be careful with the boiling water and the stove.
