Buy the meat. This is often by choice. Some like T-bone; others like New York Strip. Whatever you choose, make sure it's juicy and thick, with some nice marbling (a bit of fat) throughout.
Step2
Next, turn your grill to the highest setting possible. Make that thing as hot as you can get it! This usually takes 5 to 7 minutes. Some choose gas and some choose charcoal. As before, this is a matter of preference.
Step3
Prep your steak as the grill heats up. If you're like me, a nice even layer of something with a bit of kick will do.
Step4
Lastly, throw your steak on the grill. DO not turn the heat down! Leave the steak on for 10 minutes total. Flip it after the first five, and then let it go.
Tips & Warnings
Do not over-spice your steak. Meats are best if you rely on their natural flavors. Nothing's worse than grilling a beautiful piece of meat only to watch someone smother it in A1 Steak Sauce! This is also a sure way to insult the Grill Master.
