Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Sibling with an upcoming birthday
- Access to your sibling's cell phone or email
- One of your sibling's closest friends
- Creativity
- Ability to keep a secret
Step1
Decide when you want to hold the surprise birthday party. The weekend is truly the best time, as people don't have to worry about getting up the next day. Decide on a time and date before you go through with any further plans. You'll want to know when the best time is for all the guests.
Step2
Be a little sneaky. Enlist the help of your sibling's best friend or significant other. Have them go through your sibling's phonebook and write down important numbers or email addresses. Make sure your sibling doesn't know they were snooping.
Step3
Invite your sibling's friends to the party in a discreet manner. If you have an E-vite account, it's a great way to discuss the party and RSVP without outsiders knowing about it. Set up an E-vite page with party information and a reminder to all of the guests that it is a SURPRISE party.
Step4
Make sure your sibling is available when their party is scheduled. If they play softball every Sunday afternoon or work Saturday nights, you'll know not to schedule the party at any of these times.
Step5
Remind your sibling's friends that they are to be "unavailable" come party time if your sibling should want to hang out. Coach the guests to tell your sibling they're out of town, studying for an exam, or are having a family night in, should your sibling want to see them at the party time.
Step6
Hold the party at your sibling's favorite restaurant, nightclub or other common location. You can even hold it at your own home. Just keep in mind: when you bring your sibling to the location come party time, you don't want them to be suspicious.
Step7
A great way to keep the party a secret is by inviting family members, as well. They'll be more inclined to mum's the word if they'll be guests at the party too.
