How to Make Easy Strawberry Shortcake

Things You'll Need
- 8 vanilla cupcakes without frosting
- 2 qt. strawberries
- 3 to 4 tbsp. sugar
- Whipped topping
- 2 large bowls
- Fork
- Knife
- Tablespoons
- 8 saucers

Mash half of the strawberries with a fork in a large bowl. Add 3 to 4 tbsp. sugar according to taste and continue mashing until the sugar and the strawberries are mixed together completely. Place eight strawberries aside then slice the rest of the strawberries thinly with a knife and place in another bowl.

Cut the cupcakes in half horizontally with your knife if they are small or cut larger cupcakes into three pieces horizontally. Place 1 tbsp. full of mashed strawberries and sugar onto the saucer and swirl it around. Press the first cupcake section into the swirl. Add another spoon of mashed strawberries, a few cut strawberries and a spoonful of whipped topping.

Continue building the layers of the strawberry shortcake cupcake using cupcake, mashed strawberries, cut strawberries and whipped topping. Add an extra large spoon of whipped topping on the top layer. Place sliced strawberries around the bottom of the first cupcake layer. Add a whole strawberry on the whipped cream on the top layer of the strawberry shortcake cupcake. Repeat the layering process to make the rest of your strawberry shortcake cupcakes.
