It may seem as though everything, including your electricity, costs more these days. Here are a few things to do:

Things You’ll Need:

  • caulk + caulking gun
  • compact fluorescent bulbs
  • new air filter

Step1
Change the thermostat setting! It is recommended a setting of 68 degrees in the winter and 78 degrees int he summer.
Step2
"Seal up" your home or business with additional weatherstripping and caulk.
Step3
Consider replacing your incandescent bulbs with compact fluorescent lighting.
Step4
Change your air filter every 2 months and use a higher quality filter.
Step5
Don't forget your water heater. It's recommended to have the setting at 120 degrees.

Tips & Warnings

  • Consider recycling the compact fluorescent bulbs that don't work anymore because they contain a small amount of mercury.
