Things You'll Need:
- Google Adsense account and a place where your ads are being displayed.
-
Step 1
Login to your Google Adsense account. This can be done at https://www.google.com/adsense. You will be shown to the main Google Adsense overview report. This will tell you how much money you have made today and so forth.
-
Step 2
At the top is a menu bar. The second tab on this bar is "Adsense Setup". You will need to click this. This will bring you to the "Get Ads" page. You will also see a new menu bar beneath the first. This will have a "Get Ads" tab, a "Manage Ads" tab, a "Color Pallets" tab, and then a "Channels" tab.
-
Step 3
Click the "Channels" tab. This will bring you to a new page where it lists your custom channels. You use these channels to create ads that are surrounding a specific topic, page, or information. These channels will be used inside the ad and will track the page impressions and clicks of all ads that use the ID of the custom channel. These are good if you create your own ads for your website or blog. You can add new custom channels by clicking on the "+ Add New Custom Channels" link found above the list.
Your other option is to create URL channels. This is particularly helpful if you write for any sites that do revenue sharing through a percentage of Google Adsense sharing. Here you can set it up to track all of the Google Adsense impressions and click for a certain URL. To do this click on the link "URL Channels" found above the "+Add New Custom Channels" link. This will take you to a list of all of your URL Channels. You can add a URL that is an entire site, or a single article or sub-domain within that site simply by clicking the "+Add New URL Channels" link. This will allow you to track your impressions and earnings from a wide range of sites. It can also be used to track money from blogs that have a set up program instead of having you create your own ads for it. -
Step 4
Once you have clicked either "+Add new custom channels" or "+Add new URL channels" you will see a box. This will allow you to add custom channel names or URL channel URL's. You can add multiple ones by adding one for each line. Then click the "Add Channels" button below the box. You are now done and within the next 24 hours you will begin to see custom information for the channels that display your ads.
