How to Make Greeting Cards with Thread and Paper

Making your own greeting cards with thread and paper is easy and fun.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Scissors
  • Card stock white & colored
  • Glue stick
  • Paper piercer deluxe
  • Heart pattern
  • Clear tape
  • Sewing thread
  • Thimble
  • Pencil
  • Sports tape
  • Magazine
  1. Step 1

    Place the heart pattern on a piece of white card stock.

  2. Step 2

    Tape at the top and bottom with a piece of sports tape.

  3. Step 3

    Lay on the magazine.

  4. Step 4

    Pierce holes in the pattern with the paper piercer.

  5. Step 5

    Choose a color of thread and run it through the needle's eye.

  6. Step 6

    Leave one end of thread longer than the other and tie a knot at the end.

  7. Step 7

    Remove the pattern.

  8. Step 8

    Starting at the bottom of the heart, bring the needle up from the backside.

  9. Step 9

    Push the needle back through the top hole that is even with the bottom hole.

  10. Step 10

    Place a small piece of clear tape over the knot on the back side to secure it.

  11. Step 11

    Place the needle through the first hole to the left of the heart's tip.

  12. Step 12

    Push it down through the first hole to the right of the top center hole.

  13. Step 13

    Continue following the pattern in a counter clock wise manner.

  14. Step 14

    When the heart has been filled in, secure all ends with clear tape.

  15. Step 15

    Fold the colored stock and trim the edges of your finished heart to fit the card.

  16. Step 16

    Run the glue stick around edges and through the middle.

  17. Step 17

    Press on to card.

  18. Step 18

    Write your greeting.
