Fixing a hole in your drywall can be costly to replace. So why replace it when I will teach you how to patch and fill that hole.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Compound
  • Putty Knife
  • Troul
  • Mesh Tape
  • Works Best

Step1
Remove any broken pieces of drywall and paper that is hanging around the edge.
Step2
Place some masking tape over the hole. Mesh tape works better it keeps the compound from sliding off.
Step3
Sandpaper around the hole to roughen up the edges so the puddy primer and paint will be able to adhire.
Step4
Get your putty knife dip it in the fast drying compound and apply it to the mesh tape that is covering the hole. Smooth the compound over the hole as smooth as you can because you will have to sandpaper it down.
Step5
Repeat the last step if the compound has shrank in the hole. Keep doing this until it stops shrinking and is the size you need it.
Step6
Let dry, sand the area smooth, prime, and then repaint.

Tips & Warnings

  • For bigger holes like the size of your head I recommend getting a lot of Mesh tape.
  • Be careful putty knives are sharp. And they are known to bite!
