Shop at specialty markets such as Whole Foods and Trader Joe's with sizable lines of wheat, egg and dairy-free fresh and packaged items. Try new things; don't be afraid.

Bake for your children. This will ensure that only allergen-free ingredients go into the mix. No doubt it can be intimidating, but you have to put that aside and jump in. The way I bake is by trial and error.

Substitute white flour with rice, oat or spelt flour. For butter, there are dairy-free, inexpensive alternatives. For milk, use soy or almond depending upon preferences, allergies and food intolerances.
