Step 1
Make a papier-mache earth. Blow up a balloon and tie it securely. Then submerge the newspaper in a mixture of water and glue and put it all over the balloon. Paint the newspaper in blue and green once the newspaper dries. Then, allow the paint to dry.

Step 2
Start a recycling plan with your family. Tell your kids that not only will they help the environment but they can also make money by recycling.
-
Step 3
Rent a kid-friendly movie about Earth Day or the effects of pollution. Pop some popcorn and watch the film with your kids. Answer any questions they have about pollution, Earth Day, etc. after the movie. A great movie for the whole family is Hoot or March of the Penguins. If the kids are a little older, then check out An Inconvenient Truth.

Step 4
Take kids on an educational field trip to celebrate the day, like the aquarium, kids' museum, or earth museum. This will help kids get a look at their environment and participate in hands-on exhibits.
