How to Throw a Classy Bachelorette Party
Bachelorette parties provide a chance for a bride and her closest friends to relax and reconnect in the last weeks before a wedding. Types of bachelorette parties vary widely, from home parties to lavish vacations. According to event planner Pamela Yager, "Women are typically not interested in having the same type of party that men do. We are more about fun group interaction and less about voyeurism." Throwing a classy bachelorette party requires creativity, planning and knowing your guests.

1
Create your guest list. The guest list for most bachelorette parties include friends close in age to the bride's age.
-
2
Select a date to hold the party. Speak with invited guests about when they will be available to attend the party. Plan the party for a date within two months of the wedding. Be sure to give guests enough time to recover from the party before the wedding, especially if the party will involve travel or extensive dining.

3
Set a budget. As host, consider providing a party favor for guests or a special gift for the bride. Guests typically pay for their share of party activities or contribute a set amount towards party expenses. Take into account the personal finances of your guests.
-
4
Choose an activity based on the tastes of the bride and guests. A bachelorette party can take any form, as long as it allows the guests to enjoy themselves and socialize. Formal teas, winery tours, spa trips and dining at a fine restaurant are just some acceptable choices for a classy bachelorette party.

5
Make reservations as soon as possible, whether the party is small or large. When booking events for groups, make reservations to avoid long waits and disappointment. Speak with managers and event planners about the purpose of your event to enable them to add special touches. Hotels, restaurants, spas and other businesses might have special packages to offer.
-
6
Mail, email or hand-deliver the invitations. Give the time and date of the party on the invitation, and request that guests RSVP you by a certain date, as to whether they will or will not attend the party. On the invitation, note what activities will be available and if any dress code is required for your event.
-
7
Arrive at the party location of the party to ensure that everything is in place. Discuss any last minute details with staff or friends who are helping with the party. If practical, be on hand to greet arriving guests.

Tips & Warnings
Classy bachelorette parties do not have to be expensive. Many of the same activities usually found in hotels, restaurants, spas and other locations are possible in private homes.
Consider any special interests and the talents of guests when planning the party.
Don't drink too much. The last thing you want on your wedding day is a piercing hangover headache.
