Things You'll Need:
- Junk mail
- Old household blender
- Bath towel
- Mould and deckle (or tray)
- Water
- Dish pan
- Sponge and paper towel
- Food coloring
- Dried herb (like Lavender)
-
Step 1
Gather all the supplies needed.
-
Step 2
Shred the paper or if you don’t have a shredder just rip the paper apart. Add water to the blender with the paper.
-
Step 3
If you want color in your paper, now is the time to add the food coloring to the blender. Continue to blender a little.
-
Step 4
Put the blended pulp into the dishpan. If you need more pulp repeat step 2.
-
Step 5
Agitate the mix in the dish pan. If more water is needed to mix well, then add more water.
-
Step 6
Take the tray and dip into the dishpan. If there are big pieces of shredded paper and you don’t want that look in your homemade herb paper, now is when you should take them out.
-
Step 7
Spread the pulp all around the tray. Lay it on the bath towel that is double to keep the surface under the towel as dry as possible.
-
Step 8
Sprinkle the dried herbs on the pulp, push them down a little. Then, add just a small amount more of pulp.
-
Step 9
Take towel, sponge or paper towel pieces start taking the extra water out.
-
Step 10
You can either let it dry, which could take a few days or use an iron. It will still not be completely dry, but it will be close.
