Things You'll Need:
- Money to Invest
- Time
- Energy
- Perseverance
-
Step 1
First, you need to search web engines. You can type in key words: travel agents, travel agents needed, travel home based business, own your own travel business. I started my own travel business last year. I wanted to be a travel agent but I didn't know where to look. So I looked on the internet.
-
Step 2
Second, ask someone who is a travel agent already for advice. I asked my friend who is a travel agent. She pointed me to her travel agency presentation. I joined and haven't looked back. For example, www.ytb.com helps you become a travel agent.

Step 3
Third, find out the companies compensation plan. I make 60 % commission, bonuses and a residual income when I help others start their own business. I have a travel agent ID card that I use to book travel packages and to travel discounts. I purchased some flowers for my mom for valentines day and I received 60% commission from the purchase. I love to help others reach their potential.

Step 4
Forth, find out the cost to start your own business. The cost averages between $100 to $500 to join and a monthly fee to upkeep your website. I paid $500 to start and $50 a month for my website. I decided to invest in my self because I am planning for my future. I don't want to have work at a 9 to 5 job the rest of my life. So I invested in my self first. on 5/26/2008 I dont know when you posted this, but im curious, are you making money with this? is it easy? is it hard? I always find it hard selling stuff to people but travel is a LARGE opportunity to make money. Anything Ive ever been involved in that dealt with travel or vacationing always did well. I think it would be really cool to have an actual travel site. But again something seeming cool, and then ending up to be a huge pain in the arse is a BIG difference! I find Crown Travel World. But I didnt really like what I saw especially for the price. And sadly the guy I talked to was absolutely honest in letting me know he wasnt doing too well with the business.
Theres tons more but I have to wonder if the saying "if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is" comes into play with a site like this:

That comp plan, plus being able to (suppose
