Things You'll Need:
- 1 lb ground lamb
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1 egg
- 1 rosemary sprig
- cumin
- salt and pepper
- FOR SAUCE:
- 2 (8 oz)containers of yogurt
- 2 cucumnbers (seeded, peeled, and diced)
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 half lemon, juice only
- 3 cloves garlic
- worchestershire sauce
- bordeaux wine
-
Step 1
Place the meat in a mixing bowl; add egg, minced garlic, minced rosemary, a pinch of cumin, a splash of worchestershire sauce, a splash of Bordeaux wine, and salt and pepper.
-
Step 2
Toss in a little chili powder if you want the "real deal." Mix with hands until fully incorporated, but don't over mix. Shape into four good size burgers. Take your tumb and make a little indention in the corner of the burger. This will keep them from plumping up too much when grilled. Grill or saute to desired perfection.
-
Step 3
Sauce: Take 2 8 oz containers of yogurt and place in food processor or blender. Add in diced cucumbers, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and any leftover herbs and blend well. Let sit for 30 minutes in the fridge, then top your tasty lamburgers and enjoy!

on 2/28/2008 Just a splash really, to give it some flavor. I would say maybe 1/4 cup for this recipe. Taste it to make sure that it works for you....add a little more if you can't taste the wine. Thin it out with a little more yogurt and worchestershire sauce if it is overpowering for you. Cooking with wine can be a blessing or totally damaging depending on individual taste.
