- Decorative basket or similar item
- Tissue paper
- Cellophane
- Bows and ribbons
- Goodies

Step 1
Buy a basket. Pick out your basket at a department store, or you could even opt for a cute coffee mug. Make sure it has enough space to fill it with whatever you have in mind. A reusable basket will come in handy when all of the goodies are gone.

Step 2
Get some candy, cookies or even spa items. Choose something that you know your special someone likes. If you decide to make it a basket with spa items, you can include scented bath salts, shower gel, lotion and a mesh body sponge. You could also make a fruit and wine basket, if you desire.

Step 3
Line the inside of the basket first with some matching tissue paper, and then arrange the gifts nicely and evenly around the basket. Craft stores sell colored paper that is shredded to be used as filler in Easter baskets. This would work well also.

Step 4
Wrap it in cellophane. When you are at the store buy some decorated cellophane wrap. It comes in transparent colors and patterns. If you go to a card or party supply store, they will usually carry cellophane with a Valentine’s Day print. Buy an adequate amount to completely cover the entire basket with about 6 to 10 inches, or enough at the top to twist.

Step 5
Add a bow or ribbons. At the top of the basket where the top of the cellophane comes together, gather, twist and tie with ribbon. You can use more than one color of ribbon to add some colorful effects. Get at least one matching bow, but you could add more if you like.

Step 6
Finish the basket with a sentimental Valentine’s Day card. This will be the finishing touch to a beautiful gift basket for anyone that you choose, so pick out the card that says what you want to tell them.
