How to Use Feng Shui to Organize Your Garage

A cluttered garage is an American cliché, the remedy to which is on every honey-do list known to man. But few people have any idea what they’re doing or what is at stake with a garage. Behind every broken or fallen family is a garage you can barely walk through. Remember the purpose of the garage and use it to serve you rather than plague you.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Step1
Your garage should be positioned so that your automobiles are not pointed into the house. Chances are this is not the case. If you’re looking for or building a new house, make sure the garage is not arranged this way. If it is, either don’t use it for a car or install full-length mirrors at the end in front of where the cars are parked.
Step2
Finish the inside walls and ceiling in the garage. Often for no other reason than to save money, garages have bare studs and even unfinished window frames. Spend the time or the money to finish those walls either in an attractive natural finish or with paint.
Step3
Install some shelves and hooks for minimal storage. The fewer things you collect in the garage the better. Try to keep things off the floor altogether. Ultimately you should be able to back out the cars, walk in with a garden hose, and spray the floor off with water to clean it. Water should flow or drain out easily. Normally you will sweep, and you should do that often. There should be very little to get in the way.
Step4
If you have a door entering the house from the garage, keep it closed always. It is best to enter and leave the house through a different door if possible. The energy coming out of a garage where cars are parked is not suitable for home environments.
Step5
Move the car into and out of the garage quickly so minimal exhaust can collect inside. Air out the garage often, at least once per week.
Step6
Smudge and bell cleanse often. Drive the bad energy out through the open garage doors. Move the cars out of the garage when you cleanse.
