Bolster Pillows are great for many uses. They make a deep sofa more comfortable. They turn a twin bed into a day bed. They add a bit of luxury to well made bed. To purchase a bolster pillow in a store, you would have to pay anywhere from $15 for a small 24-inch bolster pillow and up to $100 for a sizeable bolster pillow. This tutorial will allow you to make a sturdy and attractive three to four foot bolster pillow.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Attractive sheet or fabric
  • Ribbons or thread
  • Old comforter
  1. Step 1

Take your fabric, which should be several feel longer than your old blanket, and lay it out on the table or floor.

  2. Step 2

Fold your old blanket in half and lay it on top of your fabric as is shown in the photo. If your fabric is not cut straight on the ends, start with the least straight edge adjusting the blanket to make sure it is in the center (from the sides).

  3. Step 3

Begin rolling your blanket and fabric together making sure all layers stays straight. As you get to the end, fold the raw edge of the fabric inward and continue rolling until finished.

  4. Step 4

Tuck raw edges of the fabric in and sew just enough to hold it in place. You can further secure your bolster with coordinating ribbon if you wish.
