If you have ever worked with a hot glue gun, you know the potential for hurting yourself or making a mess with the hot glue on your counter. While some hot glue guns come with with little kick stands, but they are seldom strong enough to keep the hot glue gun in a position that is both safe and minimizes mess. While this may not be the most beautiful hot gun holder around, it works well.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Wire clothing hanger
  • Hot glue gun
  • Piece of plastic to place under the hot glue gun
Step1
Find a full wire clothing hanger without any cardboard. It can however be colored with a thin layer of plastic. These hangers are readily available from your dry cleaner.
Step2
Stretch the hanger out by pulling the center of the hanger where slacks would go and the hook part of the hanger.
Step3
Bend the hook part of the hanger back onto the hanger as shown in photo.
Step4
Bend the end of the hanger opposite the hook perpendicular to the rest of the hanger. The bend should be 2 inches from the end of the hanger.
Step5
About 4 inches further down the stretched out hanger, bend the hanger again in a "V" shape and the fold the hanger again four inches down allowing the hook part of the hanger as the foot of the hot glue holder.
Step6
You may have to work a little to get your hot glue holder well balanced by pulling the part that touches the table apart a bit to make room for the hot glue gun and to make sure it continues to stand up correctly when you rest the hot glue gun on it. You will notice that your hot glue gun holder has a long tail on it and the purpose is to add weight to the end to balance the weight of the hot glue gun.
