Things You'll Need:
- Bulbs
- Shovel
- Ruler or Yardstick
-
Step 1
You will begin by selecting the area you want your bulbs at. Once this area is selected, begin to lay your bulbs out where you want them, if you have a variety of bulbs you are planting, make sure you mark them in a way you will know which bulbs are which.
-
Step 2
Planting ChartNow that your bulbs are laid out how you think you want them, refer to the next chart in order to make sure your bulbs are properly spaced out from each other to prevent overcrowding.
-
Step 3
Make any adjustments necessary so your plants are to close together, its always better to have them further apart rather than closer together if you aren't sure.
-
Step 4
Planting ChartNow you may begin digging the holes for your bulbs, again, refer to the planting chart for correct depths to plant at. Measure your holes, fill and dig deeper as needed.
-
Step 5
Once your holes are dug, you can begin putting your bulbs in the holes, however, make sure the eye of the bulb is facing up. The eye is the part that looks like a small stem coming out of the bulb. Once all of your bulbs are in the ground, you can begin refilling your holes, but be careful not to disrupt the way the bulb is laying in the hole.
-
Step 6
Now water your bulbs, and wait until spring! You will have a beautiful flower garden.
