Would you turn down a extra $300 a month. There is easy ways to cut down your grocery bill by hundreds each month and even add more nutrition to your meals.
Plan meals ahead of time. When you leave meals to the last minute, most often you will go out to eat or heat up some awful prepackaged food. I know this is no small task but it is worth it in the end. Planning meals ahead of time will also allow you to plan menus with sale items. (I keep a list on my laptop and send it to my phone when I am ready to shop.)
Step2
Have a grocery list on your refrigerator, where your family can add things on the list as needed. This way you can veto anything that is not in the budget. Only go grocery shopping once a week. Bring your list with you, and do not deviate from the list. This means that if you do not have a cool little gadget on your list, you do not buy it. If you really want it, put it on your list for next time, and you can buy it if you still want it then.
Step3
When items are on sale that you use on a regular basis, buy a enough to use for a month if possible.
Step4
EASIEST WAY TO SAVE: When you make a meal, make enough for two dinners, then freeze the second meal for the next week. This will save on time and will keep you from eating out as much. (Do not due this to instant rice)
Tips & Warnings
If you work at these they will not cramp your style, they will be budget savers.

Also, consider growing or raising some of your own food. Container gardening in small spaces works well for tomatoes and peppers. With more land, add a few chickens for eggs and meat.
