Step1
Before you go grocery shopping, eat some fruits or nuts or maybe even a small sandwich. You don't want to fall victim to the sweets isle just because you didn't eat.
(it's kind of like putting a condom on for sex to avoid...) You know.
Step2
* Try to make a list. Now granted I am the one that makes a partial physical list and mental list as I go along but I found ways to even help that.
* When you have a general list, you can save time and money by focusing on what you need rather than what you want
Step3
* Usually anything located on the "inside isles" are not the best for you because they are processed and may have those lovely Trans Fats.
*
* Try at all cost to steer clear of the inside isles unless it is pasta or so. The outside isles have your fruits veggies, dairy, unprocessed meats, breads...
Step4
If you have to go to the inside isles for a craving you just cant bare,
LOOK ON THE BACK not for the calories BUT FOR THE TRANS FATS!!! They are hidden in the INGREDIENTS under ANOTHER NAME!!! they are called PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED OILS!!! They sometimes leave out the partially part, or they will specify what "TYPE" of oil they used. Example: Partially Hydrogenated Sunflower Oil.
It almost sounds good for you.
That is the type of fat that creates that unsightly bulge in your belly.
Step5
ANOTHER MONSTER!!! High Fructose Corn Syrup. These two things are the worst "NON FOODS" or "Experiments" you can put in your body.
Step6
Correct me if I am wrong because I am going off of straight memory.
(((PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED OILS))) were made to elongate the shelf life of these products. In the "60's" Cookies, as an example, on the shelf would go bad and so they created this concoction so the cookie companies wont lose so much money.
Think about it, if you baked cookies or crackers, how long should they last?
If you really want cookies, get it from the bakers section and I would still check the label if I were you
Step7
(((HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP))) was made to make a product cheaper than sugar with the same effect.
Only problem is that it didn't create the same effect.
Example:
in the "50's" You would never be able to drink a full gallon of soda pop because your body recognized the sugar intake and told you you had enough.
With HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, your body does not know when enough is enough so you keep eating or drinking and you can still have that hunger feel.
The problem with The corn syrup: Almost EVERYTHING you own that seems edible has it. If you cant rid yourself totally, here's a trick.
When you look at the ingredients, What ever is listed first that means the product has the most of and once it gets past 5 ingredients, the other products are usually sparingly used. If you can only buy the products where the high fructose corn syrup is the 5th or higher ingredient, you may have a chance.
