How to Find Unique Wedding Favors
As a social event, a successful wedding is one that is as memorable for the attendees as for the bride and groom. If you are planning to get married or you are helping with the organization of a wedding, favors are an essential area of attention. Unique wedding favors will not only add to the splendor of the wedding, but any gifts given to those who attended the wedding ignite appreciation.

1
Research wedding favors on the Internet. Take note of the items that appear most often and seem to be standard. Based on these observations, create a list of the items or types of items that appear to be more novel and unique. You will use this list in making your purchases.

2
Go to a website that specializes in wedding favors. Use your list to search for items. Purchase favors according to the kind of impression you want to make on the attendees at the wedding. If you are preparing carry home bags for the guests, supply favors that would appear unique or unexpected from an attendee's perspective.

Visit a store in your area that caters to weddings and/or parties. Ask a salesperson for assistance. Inform him of your desire to find unique favors for the wedding. Show him your list. Ask him to point you in the direction of favors that meet the criteria established by your list. Ask him to direct you to items that rarely sell or do not sell nearly as often as others do. When evaluating the items on sale in the store, look for favors that seem the least kitschy.

Go to a store that sells a large assortment of knickknacks not necessarily designed for weddings or similar occasions. These items will be unique almost by definition, as they do not normally relate to weddings. In deciding on your purchases, look for items that are not pigeonholed by any particular theme such as a wedding or a birthday. Look for items that are celebratory but aren't relegated to just one kind of occasion. Decorate the location of the wedding with ornamental items that are versatile enough to accompany multiple types of events.

5
Go to a vintage gift shop. Purchase items from the past associated with weddings or similar occasions. A vintage angle is creative as the items are more unexpected and unique than contemporary favors and ornaments.

Tips & Warnings
Do not rely solely on a friend's or family member's discretion during your decision-making process. While you want to find unique favors, use your own discretion so as not to alienate any guests. A friend might bring a bias to the table that will hamper sensible purchase choices.
