Folding paper army planes has been a pastime for children of many centuries. There are no rules, beyond making a paper plane that flies. With this eHow, you can learn a basic design for an army paper plane.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose a piece of paper from which to make your paper army plane. Paper that's too heavy might not fly well, whereas paper that's too fragile might crumple after the first crash landing. A sheet of paper's that 8 ½ inches by 11 inches will work well.

  2. Step 2

Fold your paper in half lengthwise.

  3. Step 3

Bend the top two corners over until the edges are about a half an inch apart. This first fold should be at a 45-degree angle and only about a quarter down from the top of the paper.

  4. Step 4

Turn the edges of the wings over again, folding them until you make a narrower wing, and a fold that runs from the nose to the tail. Do the same for both wings.

  5. Step 5

Pinch the center with your fingers, and turn the wings up so they stand out from the body of the paper army plane at a 90-degree angle.

  6. Step 6

Fly your lean, mean army paper plane.

  7. Step 7

Experiment with different designs when making a paper army plane. Try to make narrower wings or wider ones and discover which flies farther.
