How to Collect Items on Neopets
Neopets is a virtual pet community. Players can create and care for up to four virtual pets. There are also shops, a trading post and an auction house where you can buy virtual items using Neopoints. Many Neopians choose to collect certain items and display them in their Gallery for other users to see.

Decide on a specific theme. Some users collect items that feature a certain pet, battledome items or paint brushes.

Put a note up on your User Lookup page. If any of your Neofriends have items that you are collecting, they may donate them to you, loan them to you or offer them to you at a discounted price.

Make a master list of items that you want to collect. Be sure to check each item off as you get it.

Earn and save as many Neopoints as possible to buy the items. Some collections, such as paint brushes, can get expensive, so saving is very important. Put your Neopoints in the National Neopian where it will be safe and earn interest. Remember to collect your interest daily.

Place any items that you buy or get for your collection into your Gallery or Safety Deposit Box. This will stop the Pant Devil from stealing them.

Search shops, the Trading Post, the Auction House and user galleries for the items you need. The Trading Post and the Auction House will usually have some items at a discounted price from users who just want the stuff gone.

Check the news often to see new items available to go with your theme. The website adds new items at least weekly.

Tips & Warnings
Make sure that you pay a fair price for your items. Some users will overpay for items just to be sure that they will get them for their collection. Overpaying for one item may make it harder for you to get other items.
Never ask for donations. This is against Neopets rules. You risk a frozen account if you do this.
