Step1
Look in all of the places that salamanders like to hide to see if you can catch one. When on land, most salamanders like to spend their time under rocks, logs and decaying leaves.
Step2
Create a perfect environment hiding place and trap a salamander. Dig a small hole in the ground, sink a bowl or a container in the hole and put some water in it. Put a plastic bag over the hole and carefully cover the bag and the hole with a light layer of dirt. Wait for your hiding place to catch salamanders for you.
Step3
Wear gloves when picking up a salamander. Salamanders have thin, delicate skin that be injured and damaged by the oils in our hands. Do not touch the salamander without putting on clean gloves first.
