Nintendo released the first Donkey Kong game for Gamecube in 2003. From there, the unique rhythm series went on to produce three more games, all of which feature the Gamecube Bongos, also known as DK Bongos. The controller is simple and durable, but you won't get the most out of it without properly caring for it. Here are some tips to keep your bongos in great condition.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Play the bongos lightly during games. Although they can certainly take a pounding, they'll have a smaller chance of breaking down in the long run if you go easy on them.
Step2
Clean them with a moist paper towel or rag to remove dust and dirt. Avoid spraying the water directly onto the bongos, as this might damage their circuitry.
Step3
Store the Gamecube Bongos in a cool, clean place when you're not using them. Keep them away from curious children and pets that might damage them.
Step4
Carry the bongos in a protective case when traveling. Backpacks work OK, but something with more support and cushioning will do a better job of preventing damage to the bongos' plastic casing and drum heads.
Step5
Strike the bongos with your hands and not with sticks or rods. The synthetic drum heads are tough, but any object with sharp points or edges could easily cause them to rupture.
Step6
Keep children from playing near the Gamecube while you're using the bongos. Rowdy kids can easily trip over the control cord and throw both the drums and Gamecube across the room.
