2. Be interested in their stories. A key to captivating people is drawing them into conversation. By showing interest in them, and their lives, you will be successful in starting conversation.

3. Show off your personality. Even if you think you are a shy person, it only takes one great experience meeting a new person to change your mind. Let your personality shine through by being funny or serious, whichever one is your style, to captivate the people you meet.

4. Talk with your hands. This is frowned upon in many circles, but you can physically captivate people by drawing them in with your hands and gestures. Don't go overboard or be too boisterous, but use your gestures to pull them into your stories.
