Pixy Stix, brightly-colored paper straws filled with tangy fruit-flavored sugar, bring back a flood of nostalgic memories for many of us but are also favored by the current generation of young people. To get full enjoyment from Pixy Stix, it's important to understand how to eat them correctly.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Tap one end of the Pixy Stix to clear it of powder and create an empty end that you can open.
Step2
Bite or tear off the empty end of the stick, tip it up and pour the sugar into your mouth. Don't suck or chew on the end of the stick. Doing so will make the paper mushy, and will cause the sugar to clog.
Step3
Continue eating until the pixie powder is completely gone.
Step4
Dispose of the empty stick in a proper trash container.

Tips & Warnings

  • Buy giant Pixy Stix if the small ones don't have enough powder to satisfy your appetite. A 21-inch stick will keep you busy for quite some time. The larger sticks are made of plastic and also make great beverage straws.
  • For a special treat, make a milkshake and insert a stick in the glass to use as a straw, or sprinkle the powder on ice cream or frozen yogurt.
  • Make pixy sticks punch. Just mix ½ cup of orange juice, ½ cup of frozen strawberry juice and ½ cup of frozen grape juice with two pixy sticks, (any flavor).
