How to Dress Up as Luigi From Super Mario Brothers
If you're going to a costume party dressed like Luigi from Super Mario Brothers, you'll need a great costume to pull it off (It also helps if you have a friend dressed as Mario for the recognition factor). Fortunately, you can put together Luigi's outfit using regular clothing with just a few embellishments.
Things You'll Need
- Socks
- Gloves
- Fake mustache
- Green trucker hat
- Green t-shirt
- Bib overalls

1
Get a kelly-green trucker hat without an emblem. The back must be fabric, not mesh. Create a white circular patch with an "L" in the center with paper and tape it to the front of the hat. (If you really want to get fancy, you can create your own embroidered patch on a sewing machine and sew it to the cap).

2
Buy a matching (and equally plain) kelly-green long-sleeved cotton shirt. If possible, get a t-shirt without buttons or a collar.

-
3
Wear a pair of dark-blue bib overalls with gold-colored buttons. For added effect, pin gold-foil-covered badges over the buttons to make them look much larger, like Luigi's. Hem the pants up over your ankles or use safety pins to keep them in place.
-
4
Put on white-and-red, horizontally striped socks. If you can't find a pair, a white pair of athletic socks and a permanent red marker work just fine. Apply the marker quickly; holding it on the fabric too long can cause it to bleed and ruin the striped effect.
-
5
Use plain brown slip-on loafers if you have them. If not, brown work boots or tennis shoes can also serve in a pinch.
-
6
Finish the outfit by wearing pristine white gloves and a large brown fake mustache.

Tips & Warnings
If you have blonde hair, temporary hair tint can change it to brown like Luigi's.
To make a big impression, ask several friends to join you dressed as different Super Mario Brothers characters. Imagine the crowd's reaction when Mario, Luigi, Princess, Yoshi and Bowser all walk in at the same time.
