Change pulls us out of the ordinary and forces us to leave our comfort zone. While some people plod through life doing the same thing day in and day out, others want the thrill of doing something new. Doing something new means embracing change and viewing as an opportunity and not a threat.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Pick one thing to work on and commit to achieving it. In other words, set a goal. Write down what you want to do or what you want to change and put it in a location where you can see it on a daily basis.
Step2
Give yourself a time-frame to complete your goal. Some goals like traveling abroad or buying a business may take a few years to achieve. Other goals like changing a bad habit take as little as 40 days to complete. Pick a time-frame that works for you but still pushes your comfort zone.
Step3
Start a hobby. Maybe you always wanted to wood-burn. Or maybe you like looking at calligraphy and would enjoy learning the art. Choosing something new that requires a little learning and get started.
Step4
Let someone else choose where to go, which way to turn or what restaurant to eat at. Go along without grumbling or giving advice and see where you wind up. Something new to you may be routine for someone else.
Step5
Make a list of your favorite things, words or activities. Cut the words up, put them in a hat and pull out three words. Look at the words and combine them in a new way. This may lead you to massage chocolate on fish or dance like a butterfly in a hat.
Step6
Sign up at 43 Things, which inspires people to do something new, helps you set goals and tracks your progress. Get involved with the website and post your news. This keeps you accountable to continue trying new things and allows people to encourage you and support you in your quest.
