Whoever said that stuffed animals are for girls obviously hasn't collected Pokémon plush toys. Created in the likeness of popular characters like Pikachu, Piplup and Turtwig, the adorable animals let your kids recreate memorable battles by day and cuddle with the cute warriors by night. Read on to learn how to collect stuffed Pokémon.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide which Pokémon plush you'd like to collect. Focus on one character and its evolved forms (Pichu, Pikachu and Raichu, for example), stick with one type of Pokémon (like water, grass, fire or electric) or simply gather your favorites. For a complete list, check the Pokedex on the Pokemon website. See the Resources section for links.

  2. Step 2

Search for the stuffed animals in the Pokémon section of toy and chain stores or through toyshop websites, online auction sites and yard sales. If you see one you like, buy it immediately since popular characters tend to sell out quickly. Trade with friends if they've got duplicates of Pokémon you've been unable to find.

  3. Step 3

Determine the type you'd like to buy. While most are plain stuffed characters, others may talk in the character's voice or morph into another shape, like a closed Pokeball. Versions in a variety of poses are also available.

  4. Step 4

Calculate how much storage space you have for your collection. While jumbo-sized toys are eye-catching, smaller plush will be easier to play with and store in a pile on your bed. If space is limited, look for smaller, keychain-sized animals to hook onto your backpack or purse.

Tips & Warnings
  • Check for any safety recalls on potential products and be sure the toy is safe for your child's age group before you buy.
