1
Go to the Fun Based Learning homepage with your Internet browser. Click on the "Classic Chembalancer" link to go to the Classic Chembalancer. See link in Resources.
-
2
Click the "Directions" button on the Classic Chembalancer page to read the instructions of how to play the Classic Chembalancer game.
-
-
3
Review the rules for balancing chemical equations using the Classic Chembalancer. When balancing chemical equations, you want to make sure that you have the same number of each different molecule on both sides of the chemical equation. In the Classic Chembalancer, you can change the number of molecules on either side of the chemical equation by entering numbers in the white boxes before the molecules in the equation.
-
4
Go back to the Classic Chembalancer page after reading the directions and reviewing the rules of balancing chemical equations. Click the "Start Game" button to begin to play the Classic Chembalancer game. The game contains 11 different chemical equations for you to balance.
-
5
Press the "Balanced" button when you think that you have successfully balanced a chemical equation using the rules in Step 3. If the equation is not balanced, try again to balance the equation.
-
6
Balance the remaining questions in the Classic Chembalancer game.
-
7
Check the box "Show Diagrams" on the Classic Chembalancer page for additional assistance when balancing chemical equations. With this box checked, diagrams of the molecules in the chemical equation will appear so you can count the number of each kind of molecule on both sides of the equation.
