When riding public transportation it's hard to know who you should talk to. If you ride on a regular basis, it is possible people will think they know you just because they see you every day. Therefore, you need to learn how to avoid conversation on public transportation when you don't want to talk to anyone. Learn how by reading the steps below.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Sit in an area that has as few people as possible. If you are not near other people there is less of a chance of having a conversation.
Step2
Read a book, newspaper or magazine that you brought. People are less likely to try to start a conversation if you have your head buried in reading material.
Step3
Listen to music. Put on your head set or earphones before you get on and turn the sound up. It is easy to avoid conversation when you can't hear other people.
Step4
Use your phone as a diversion. You can play games, text or just make it look like you are busy, too preoccupied to have a conversation.
Step5
Bring a hand-held game to play on the public transportation. The same applies when you are using your phone but it is even better than the phone because people are even less inclined to interrupt you.
