Instructions
  1. Step 1

Request a private appointment with the teacher. This shows respect for the teacher's time and will create an environment that will allow for an open and honest discussion.

  2. Step 2

Arrive for the appointment on time. Knock on the door and wait for the teacher to notice you and invite you to enter the room.

  3. Step 3

Decide in advance what you will say to apologize. This will allow you to clearly and properly express your apology.

  4. Step 4

Enter the room with a good attitude. Put a smile on your face, and greet the teacher warmly.

  5. Step 5

Explain briefly why you are there, and get right to the apology. Acknowledge and take responsibility for what you did wrong, and express regret.

  6. Step 6

Check your pride at the door. Listen to the teacher's response, and don't take offense or respond negatively to the teacher's reaction.

  7. Step 7

Thank the teacher for her time and properly excuse yourself to leave the room. Leave the room with respect, and tell the teacher to have a good day.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't use profanity. Use proper English, and don't use slang words or phrases such as "Like," "Give me a break," or street language that the teacher may not understand or may find offensive.
