A trailing clock will follow the cursor of the person viewing the web page. Adding a trailing clock can be a creative way to adorn a website page, show the time and possibly the date for your visitors. You will be able to find the code for various trailing clocks on the Internet. Follow these steps to find one you like and add it to your web page.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Search for trailing clock code using your favorite search engine. You can search for "free trailing clock" or "trailing clock code." You might have to play around with different search terms and phrases. When you have found one that you like, highlight and copy the code for it.

  2. Step 2

View the HTML code for the page on which you want to add the clock. You need to be able to edit this information.

  3. Step 3

Look for the "" code at the end of the page. This indicates the end of the body of the web page. The body of a web page is what the page will display to a viewer. Add the code directly before the "" and save the changes.

  4. Step 4

Preview the web page to make sure that the changes took effect. You can click the preview button in your web page editor. Alternatively, you can simply type the web address for that page into your web browser.

Tips & Warnings
  • The clock will display the date and time that your computer is set to. Therefore, if your computer is set to the wrong time, then the clock will be wrong as well.
  • If you know basic HTML, you can change the colors of various features on the clock using hexadecimal color codes.
