Many young kids dream of becoming actors and starring in their own Disney Channel series. The reality of this happening is slim, and desire alone won't land them a role. If you have a kid who wants to become a Disney Channel star, consider these steps to help her achieve her dream.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Enroll your kid in theater classes that will help her develop the confidence and self-esteem needed to perform in front of a large audience. Not only will theater classes help your kid learn to act, they may assist her with singing and dancing as well.

  2. Step 2

Team up with an acting scout who can help you find an agent in the industry. Parents need to be diligent about finding reputable scouts to avoid scams. Ask for referrals from trusted individuals such as other parents with child actors or acting teachers and coaches.

  3. Step 3

Look for announcements from the Disney Channel about upcoming auditions and casting calls. Major cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Orlando and San Francisco often host auditions so you must be willing to travel if you don't live in those locations.

  4. Step 4

Do your homework and prepare for the audition. Not only are talent scouts and producers looking for a specific type of talent, they are also looking for kids who arrive at the audition with the necessary paperwork and prepared pieces.

Tips & Warnings
  • The investment of both money and time is extensive and often requires an entire family to make sacrifices. The amount of money spent on traveling, acting classes and extraneous expenses can total more than 20 thousand dollars each year.
