If you are a fan of punk rock and horror movies you might be a prime candidate to be horror punk. Horror punk is a fashion style made popular by some late 1970s rock bands such as The Misfits. Similar to Goth, horror punk is a style all on its own. Read on to learn how you can be horror punk.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Listen to horror punk bands. Besides The Misfits, become a fan of Murderdoll, Calabrese, Samhain, Bela B. & Balzac, AFI and other related bands.

  2. Step 2

Wear horror punk. Your attire should be black clothing, t-shirts adorned with skulls, demons, zombies, vampires, ghouls, skeletons and horror-movie icons. Wear boots.

  3. Step 3

Add jewelry such as skull rings or chains. Put spikes on your boots and wear horror-related pins, buttons or patches to your clothing. Wear dark eyeliner and shadow and style your hair in devil locks. If you're ready to go all out horror punk, wear a skull mask.

  4. Step 4

Know your monster myths and legends. Be knowledgeable about vampire lore, the undead, werewolves and other classic monsters. Watch all the old horror movies like "Dracula", "Frankenstein" and "The Wolfman" as well as zombie movies no matter how bad they are.

Tips & Warnings
  • Apply plenty of white makeup or face paint if you're not into wearing a skull mask.
  • Dye your hair black although light-colored hair is acceptable to be horror punk.
  • Being horror punk does not mean breaking the law or being rude or obnoxious to people. The horror punk look might be meant to scare but doesn't mean you can't be polite to people.
  • Don't wear any other colors but black, gray or white.

on 5/12/2009 Yeah everyone! Don't dress how you want to, go online and look up how to perfectly peg yourself into a label! The Misfits are my favorite band but it seems I've broken your important rule of not wearing any color but black, gray, and white. I guess I'm not a real Misfits fan.
