How to Add a Connection in Trillian

Trillian is a unique instant messenger program that allows you to add your contacts from other programs, such as AIM and MSN. The steps below will tell you how you can add a connection in Trillian to import the contacts from the other messenger programs.

Instructions

1. Start Trillian and display the main messenger screen by double clicking on the "Trillian" icon on your status bar.

2. Choose the "Trillian" menu, point to "Connections" and click on "Manage my Connections" to open the "Trillian Preferences" dialog box.

3. Click the "Add a New Connection" button at the bottom of the "Trillian Preferences" dialog box and pick a type of connection you would like to add. You can add a connection from IRC, AIM, ICQ, MSN or Yahoo!. You will get a pop-up screen asking you for the details of the connection you want to add.

4. Select the "Register for a New Account" button if you don't have an account with the chosen medium and would like to create one.

5. Enter the screen name and password if you already have an account with the chosen medium in the appropriate text boxes.

6. Click the "Connect" button to connect the new connection you have just specified. You will now see the new connection added to the "Connections" category on the main screen of the "Trillian Preferences" dialog box.

7. Choose the "Close" button to close the "Trillian Preferences" dialog box and return back to the messenger. You will now see the contacts from the connection you have just added on your contact list.
