Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Find a new, clean sponge. Regular yellow, pliable sponges work best.
Step2
Run warm, fresh water over the sponge.
Step3
Wring the sponge out over a kitchen sink. It's important to keep the sponge somewhat moist, so don't wring out the sponge to the point that that there is no water left in it. Reapply water and wring out again to an acceptable moisture level if you think that you've wrung it out too much.
Step4
Run the sponge over areas that accumulate lint. Upholstery, clothes and even dryer doors can be treated with the dampened sponge.
Step5
Remove lint as it accumulates on the sponge's surface. Rake your fingers across the sponge so that the lint forms solid balls of lint. Dispose of the lint as you gather it to make a clean surface for more cleaning.
Step6
Clean linty surfaces until no lint remains. You may want to run a sponge over a seemingly clean surface a few more times to make sure that all small lint particles are picked up by the sponge.
Step7
Wash and dry your sponge after you've finished cleaning. Sponges can be reused to clean lint the next time it accumulates in your home, on your clothes or furniture.
