The Mexican jumping poker chip trick is an easy way to impress your friends. To do it, you'll start with two stacks of poker chips and make one jump from the first stack to the second. The Mexican jumping trick is best used to start another poker chip trick, such as shuffling.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Separate your stack of chips into two stacks, one of which will have one chip less than the other. Move the chips from the first pile into the second at one time. Hold the short stack in your hand.

  2. Step 2

Slide the top chip of the main stack halfway off of the stack. The result will be two stacks of chips, one held in your hand and the other on the table with top chip hanging off to the side.

  3. Step 3

Snap the very edge of the chip that is hanging off of the stack and flip it into the air.

  4. Step 4

Place the stack of chips in your hand on the table next to the other stack. The one you flipped into the air should come down and land on top of this pile of chips, making the two stacks the same size.

  5. Step 5

Keep your hand in place on the pile where you want the chip to land. Your hand should guide the chip into place as a funnel guides the liquid through a small opening.
