Creating personalized jewel case inserts for your CDs or DVDs is a process that resembles digital scrapbooking. If you'd prefer, you can use a simple template to make uniformed inserts for a clean, modern look.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Purchase a digital scrapbooking program to use online and download onto your computer. Make sure the program you select has an option for labels so you don't have to constantly resize your project.

  2. Step 2

Open a new template, then select the option to make inserts for CDs or DVDs.

  3. Step 3

Create a background if you'd like one. You can use any of selections that accompany your project, or you can import a background from your personal library or from an online source. If you don't want to use a background, you can use embellished or colored card stock in your printer.

  4. Step 4

Insert photographs or clip art to personalize your jewel case insert. Add shadows, borders or embellishments of your choice.

  5. Step 5

Add playlists or a table of contents in the program you are working with, or import it from your personal word processor. Play with colors, sizes and fonts to achieve the right look.

  6. Step 6

Print your completed project on a color printer. Allow the CD insert to thoroughly dry prior to removing it from the printer.

Tips & Warnings
  • There are free programs you can download specifically for jewel cases, but the features are limited. A free digital scrapbooking program gives you more options when designing CD or DVD inserts.
  • Have fun experimenting with a program's features before you print your CD or DVD inserts.
