Many people want to do something to help fight breast cancer, but have no idea how to go about it. Instead of simply sending money to a charity, you can donate your old cell phones to help put money towards research and treatment of breast cancer.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find a Recycle for Breast Cancer collection box or set up your own. These boxes are used to not only collect cell phones, but PDAs and ink cartridges as well. The organization uses the money made from the resale of these items to support breast cancer research and treatments.

  2. Step 2

If you can't locate a box, request a pre-paid label to send in your old cell phone. Contact Recycle for Breast Cancer through their website and they'll send an envelope to return your old cell phones in.

  3. Step 3

Send the cell phone as is or remove the SIM card. If you're worried about your private information being viewed, remove the SIM card and erase the memory from the phone.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can remove the battery before recycling your old cell phone. The organization does not require that it be included.
  • Don't send in your cell phone accessories for recycling.
