Paragliding is a sport in which you fly using a controllable parachute. You can go paragliding after several hours of training and certification, or you can go tandem paragliding after just a few minutes of instruction. In tandem paragliding, you're physically attached to a certified instructor for the entire paragliding experience. Here is how you can go tandem paragliding.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Keep your weight under control. You shouldn't go tandem paragliding if you weigh more than 275 lb.

  2. Step 2

Stay in reasonable physical shape. You're required to jog at least 50 feet when you go tandem paragliding, and you need to use your body to steer your parachute.

  3. Step 3

Locate a paragliding company with certified instructors. Inquire about the company's safety record and number of tandem flights to date.

  4. Step 4

Dress warmly. You ride in front of your instructor under the parachute, so you get the full impact of the wind when you go tandem paragliding.

  5. Step 5

Receive about 30 minutes of instruction on how to take off, steer and land before you go tandem paragliding. Be alert and note special instructions about how to avoid injury during landing or in the event of a mishap.
