How to Make Pork Dim Sum
Dim sum is a certain type of small Chinese snack or light meal. Traditionally, dim sum is enjoyed with family and friends at lunch, and is usually served with tea. Things You'll Need
- 2 lbs. boneless center cut pork or pork tenderloin
- 2½ tbsp. hoisin sauce
- 1½ tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tbsp. sherry
- 1 tsp. honey
- 1/8 tsp. five-spice powder
- ½ lb. shredded lean pork
- 1 tbsp. soy sauce
- 9 tbsp. canola or safflower oil
- 6 beaten eggs
- 4 chopped mushrooms
- 1 shredded scallions or green onions
- ½ tsp. sugar

Mix the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, sherry, honey and five-spice in a large zip-seal bag. Add the pork and marinate it in the refrigerator overnight, or for several hours.

Preheat the oven to 300 degrees.

Put the pork on a rack or an upside-down muffin pan, and place it over a pan of water. Roast the pork for 1 hour.

Baste the pork with extra soy sauce or hoisin sauce for two hours, turning it after 1 hour.

Slice the pork thinly and serve it with bread. Serve it with toothpicks, if desired.
Shredded Pork Dim Sum

Mix the shredded pork with the soy sauce and set it aside.

Heat 6 tbsp. of oil in a skillet and stir-fry the eggs in the hot oil.

Put the eggs on a plate and cut them into thin strips.

Add the remaining 2 tbsp. of oil to the frying pan, and stir-fry the shredded pork, mushrooms and scallions until the pork is completely cooked.

Add the sugar and egg and mix well.
