How to Complete the Melty Molten Galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy

To get the three Stars in the Melty Molten Galaxy, Mario must navigate a sinking lava spire, shooting fireballs and meteors, Bullet Bill, a Star ball and a fiery Dino Piranha.

The Lava Spire

1. Go around the lava pool, jump across after the lava geysers settle, and head along the sinking metal platforms. Climb up to the big stone button after the steam geysers stop. Pound on the button to sink the ledge and create a wall-jump shaft.
2. Time Mario's wall-jump to avoid the steam vent blowing in front, and head for the Sling Star. Spin onto another Sling Star in mid-flight, then spin onto the Launch Star to head for the tiny, three-orbed planet.
3. Jump to the nearest Pull Star, and go around the lava spheres, watching out for the fireballs. Use the Launch Stars at the end to reach the Sling Star on the upside-down UFO, which takes you to the rocky planet.
4. Spin attack the fireball monsters to blow them out, then run into them to destroy them. Now, you can make your way up the planet collecting Star Chips, using the Launch Star near the middle.
5. Take the next planet's rocky platforms to reach the Lava Spire. Run to the top of the spire before it completely sinks, avoiding the fireballs and star bits. Hit the big crystal at the top to get the Star.

Meteor Storm

6. Draw the fireball monsters to the torches at the lava pool to light them and create the Launch Star to the hexagon planet.
7. Go from one end of the planet to the other (this is on a 2D screen) to reach the Launch Star, avoiding the Thwomps and meteors as you go. Then, grab Star Chips in the next stage, and take the next Launch Star.
8. Use Bullet Bill to hit the cage at the top of the next planet, luring him from the other end. Make sure he doesn't hit another enemy or wall.
9. Ride the Star ball through the lava tunnel, and drop it in the hole at the end for the Star. You'll have to jump over several holes and a small platform near the end. You can skip much of the first part by going for the 1-up you'll see.

Fiery Dino Piranha

10. Take the left route after the lava-pool platforms, and wall jump to the pipe, avoiding the steam. Get the Sling Star from inside the pipe to reach the first rocky planet.
11. Defeat all the fireball monsters to get the next Launch Star.
12. Make it across the next rocky planet for another Launch Star. The fireballs are best avoided by swerving instead of jumping.
13. Collect five star chips on the planet with the rotating platforms. Backflip onto a higher platform when Mario's about to be pushed off one. The next Launch Star will be on an upper blue platform.
14. Go across the sinking platforms on the next planet, spinning on the Sling Stars when they appear. The Launch Star will take Mario to Fiery Dino Piranha.
15. Hit Dino Piranha four times when his tail isn't burning to complete the Melty Molten Galaxy. He'll shoot fireballs after thee hits.
